Elegy for a Shattered Hour, Act I Bright Fragments
The hour did not break all at once.
It fractured quietly,
through light.
In the beginning, there were fragments —
soft, luminous, almost weightless.
They carried traces of something intact,
echoes of a time that had not yet collapsed.
Names still held meaning.
Memories still answered when called.
The body moved through warmth,
through spaces where the air remembered you.
But something had already shifted.
The light was no longer whole.
It bent, refracted, scattered across surfaces that could not hold it.
What remained was not the moment itself,
but its residue.
These are the bright fragments —
pieces of an hour still glowing,
even as it begins to disappear.
